George Eid Sr. is a world champion foosball player. He is 62 years old, but he is still playing. Now, he is preparing for the 2028 World Cup. His story began a long time ago in Beirut, Lebanon. In 1975, there was a war in his city. It was a difficult time for everyone. Because of the war, schools were closed and streets were dangerous. Young people could not go to the beach, so they went to a local game center instead. This center was near George's home.

George was only 12 years old when he first played foosball. He did not have much money, so he made a deal with the owner. He cleaned the tables, and in return, he could play for free. The game helped him forget the war. In 1986, George moved to Manchester, UK, after he married a British woman. He worked at a casino and played foosball there. He even challenged people to beat him.
